With the M3 Ultra Mac Pro out the door and the final Intel version no longer for sale, Apple had no qualms in taking off the gloves and calling out Intel by name in their comparisons left and right.

Here’s my (rapidly becoming traditional) roundup of reactions to the Apple Event, and more cohesive thoughts on what they presented. Turns out I had a lot to say about a short event!

Sorry about the lack of USB-C on Apple’s peripherals, guys. They really wanted me to have a reason to try out this wireless charging base/grip for the Magic Mouse. Ordered! ✅
Anybody else revert to Kid Mode when they’re sick? It’s a spaghettios night. 🤒
I wonder if my Apple One plan will renew at $32.95 or $37.95 tomorrow. I haven’t received a notice about the price increase, which I believe would be a clear violation of their own rules.
It’s about time that they got the recognition they deserve.
A couple updates to my Apple wish/prediction list:
Touch Bar Fully Discontinued on New MacBooks After Seven Years - MacRumors
Just over seven years after it was introduced, the Touch Bar has now been fully discontinued on all new MacBooks sold by Apple, marking the end of an era for a hardware feature that was loved by some users and derided by others.
I only played with the Touch Bar in stores. I thought it was a neat concept, but imperfectly implemented and then left without iteration for years. Honestly, I think there’s still a spot for it today. Half-height function row keys PLUS the Touch Bar above it could have been a winning combination.

Season 2 of Our Flag Means Death isn’t really doing it for me. There’s still time, though, and I did love the first season. 📺

Would you look at that? Space Black didn’t completely replace Space Gray in the MacBook Pro lineup. The plain M3 14-inch model comes in Silver/Space Gray. Space Black is only for the true professional chip Macs.
Note to self: For the next Apple Event, make the live blogging announcement post, and then thread highlights as replies to that post. Probably better than mucking up everyone’s timeline and easier too.
Come on Apple, I had but one wish. A black version of this keyboard. I wouldn’t even care that it still charges with Lightning. The count continues.
Holy smokes, they actually did it. They finally killed the Touch Bar. No more 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Apple is sending out special gift boxes to select influencers, such as Lamarr Wilson. The boxes include a pair of AirPods Maxheadphones and some “sweet and spooky” snacks and drinks to consume while watching the event on Monday night.
