We need Snapchat-like quick sending of photos to multiple people for iOS messages. I could probably make a facsimile of it with Shortcuts, but the UI in Snapchat is great.

I’ve been using TopNotch.app for years and loved it. But now Bartender replicates the rounded screen corners feature, and (fingers crossed) it doesn’t look like it has the same buggy dynamic wallpaper limitations. As much as I liked TopNotch, this means one less app I need running on my system!

I think way too much about usernames and domains. Sometimes I wish I wouldn’t care so much and reclaim that brain time.

Whelp, now I feel silly. I’d been wondering why I couldn’t get my automatic starter to work for months. Turns out I never tried locking the car first. 🤦‍♂️

🆕📝 7 Things This Week [#113]

Quite the hodgepodge this week!

You might have thought that @burk was joking. He wasn’t joking. 🤣 https://overcast.fm/+hdKPtaH1s/35:36

A thank you sign with Hemispheric Views podcast stickers and a ‘Ralph Breaks the Internet’ Blu-ray Disc.

Had a blast in the (very wet) Lake Placid Half Marathon yesterday! It was awesome to see so many people getting after it despite the rain and chilly weather. And I even placed pretty well, even though I really just wanted to finish without injury. 😁 🏃‍♂️

Me, soaked but wearing a smile and a medal.A Strava map of the race course around lake placid. My finishing certificate with a time of 1:39:03.5. Placing 16th out of 288 overall. 10th out of 89 males. And 3rd out of 24 males aged 20-29. Average pace of 7:34.

Uh oh. I’m getting the itch for alpinism. Also, just finished watching Race to the Summit. Awe inspiring human achievements.

Tonight was a good climbing night.

Ugh. Experienced data loss today for the first time in ages. I knew better than to type a whole blog post into a web browser without copying it elsewhere, and yet… Now to decide if it’s worth rewriting.

🆕📝 My Appearance on ‘Really Specific Stories’

Would you look at that, I’m on a podcast! But not just any podcast, one of my favorites: the ever gracious @martinfeld’s Really Specific Stories.

🆕📝 T-Mobile’s $10 iPad cellular plan is the best deal in data

I never hear folks mention it, but I’ve been using this data plan for years. It’s time for more people to know!

🆕📝 7 Things (Which Are Great Limited-Run Podcast Series You’ll Love) This Week [#112]

Between the hint of a Thursday Apple briefing on the Six Colors podcast, and now something special coming next week on AppStories, my ears are perked and curiosity piqued. Any ideas?

Next week, AppStories+ and AppStories will be published a little later than usual on Monday, October 2nd around mid-morning Eastern US time for a discussion of a special review we’ve got coming the same day. We’ll have more to say soon, so stay tuned. [MacStories Weekly #387]

You know, I heard on @upgrade@relayfm.social that the Podcastathon thing was pretty fun, but also good and tough. 😂

Holy shit, really getting my money’s worth out of this bonus episode of @HemisphericViews. I don’t think I’ve laughed this hard in months! oneprimeplus.com

This seems like something @dmoren@zeppelin.flights, @Moltz@mastodon.social, and @lexfri@hachyderm.io would want to get hooked up ASAP 😂

Big props to Lucas on crushing the lead of Roaches on the Wall (5.10) last night. Made it look easy, which it is not! It’ll be a few seasons before I’m ready to lead that, but his stoke on the send will keep me inspired to continue at it. 📷

If I had purchased a FineWoven case and the USB-C hole alignment was off, let alone how poor the quality and feel of the case seems to be, I’d be returning the case and looking elsewhere before I purchased new cables to fit this one oddball case.

🆕📝 7 Things This Week [#111]

🧗 Led up this gem today with Gerry! The Disputed (5.8) is the hardest trad lead I’ve done since injuring my finger and, not gonna lie, I’m pretty proud of working through this onsight! (And I was treated to another beautiful sunset on the ride home. Autumn is just the best.) 📷
