Uh-oh, a new lists app, Listy, has entered onto my scene. It has potential to take the cake with its clean design, category-specific interface/details, ability to add brief notes, attractive pricing, and fun extras like sharing an image of list items. Via @davidpierce@mastodon.social on Installer.

I’m reminded that Sequel is also excellent and has a nifty Magic Lookup function and Trakt syncing. Oh, the embarrassment of riches. I’ve just been using Reminders lists, but would prefer something more visual and purposeful.
I have Listy and Sequal subscriptions because of course I do. Sequal is what I use for TV and movies though because of the notifications and searchable database. I use Listy for my app shopping list.
Even though Sequel is a bit more full-featured, I think I’m going to give Listy a go. It’s less expensive, includes family sharing, allows all kinds of lists instead of just media ones, and has a less busy interface. Plus, I already use TV Forecast for syncing things I’m currently watching with Trakt.
@pratik I’m not sure about Sequel cause I don’t have it’s subscription, but they do advertise ’Advanced Widgets’. Might be a good question for @amerpie. Listy doesn’t have them, though that would be cool.
@dvdlite Nice cc: @pratik
@pratik The widgets do countdown until a movie is released or a show starts, watch next queue, quick access to search your library, see items releasing soon
@pratik Ooh I’m a sucker for stats. I love how Trakt works like an RSS or email backend so you can try out all the apps with your actual data.
@pratik Would you look at that! TV Forecast does have an interactive widget. But just a small one, and you either choose a specific show or have automatically populate one. So you could have multiple of the widgets for your current shows with a little manual effort. You tap the small checkmark to mark the episode as watched. I’ve seen TV Time but the design doesn’t gel with me.
@jarrod friendly note that you’re spelling Sequel wrong a few times here (I hope this is useful and not a bummer to hear)
@jwithy Ah, thanks for the heads up!
@pratik How many shows do you watch at once? You could set up a page with a handful of the small widgets and just change one’s source when you finish a show. Not super elegant, but would work. I’ll submit some feedback that larger interactive widgets are desired.
@pratik And by “submit some feedback”, I mean I’ll tag @tvforecastapp here so you they can see our whole discussion! 🙂
@pratik Quite handsome, in fact.
@pratik This may not be as interactive as you’re looking for, but have you come across Sofa Downtime Organizer
