@jarrod What’s it’s missing for you? I’m still on 1Password so I can share other sensitive information with my wife like bank accounts. AFAIK Notes doesn’t let you collaborate on encrypted notes.
I really like the new Passwords app but yeah; I’m sticking with 1Password for now too. Mostly because I need it to be cross platform
@samwarnick The secure notes and non-login items are the biggest omission, but I also prefer the keyboard shortcuts for logins on macOS, having a login’s password history, and more other little stuff. I think Apple Passwords is great for most people, but I’ve built up too much muscle memory and history with 1P to switch to something less capable right now. Maybe someday!
@grubz Cross-platform isn’t really on my needs list, and I, too, like the Apple Passwords app overall. 1Password just has such a lead on it, feature-wise. As long as it continues to advance, I think I could switch someday.
(BTW, importing your passwords into 1Password from Apple Passwords will not offer any smarts about merging duplicates. You just end up with double all your passwords. Ask me how I know. 😝)
@jarrod TIL 1P has password history!
I think after my Surface dies in a year or two, I switch to a MacBook and I no longer need cross platform lol
I’m resolutely doing the opposite. One password / passkey / secret note at a time. The latter will go in Apple Notes under locked down individual notes. 🤷🏻
@numericcitizen Different strokes for different folks!
@samwarnick Oh yeah, it’s saved my butt more than a few times!
@jarrod Same. iCloud Passwords is great for storing passwords. In contrast, 1Password is a fully-featured security management app. And it manages so much of my life that I cannot imagine parting from it.
