With the amount of blood that I was losing, I couldn’t have laid there very long before I would have died. Loss of consciousness and blood is a bad combination for threatening brain damage, too.
I am grateful that I’m living in the current future where we have trusted mobile devices that volunteer to jump in to save us if we are knocked out.
Make sure this is turned on for you and your loved ones.
@jarrod I love these stories so here’s mine:
Watch told me I was having irregular heart rates.
I ignored it. 3 weeks later I had my *first* heart attack.
This technology is magic. Don’t dismiss it.
@mako Wow. So glad you’re here to tell the story!
@jarrod thanks!
I didn’t mention the 2nd heart surgery to fix afib, and the 2nd heart attack 14 mos later. But yikes, Apple Watch has become an essential for health tracking. Even the drs recommend it for remote EKGs.
On the mend now, and glad to still be here. ;)
@jarrod I need an easy switch for this setting! My family visits too many amusement parks and the roller coasters kept setting it off…
@quiddle I wonder if Siri would do it?
@mako Yikes indeed! Sounds like you’ve been through the wringer. Do you do the EKGs regularly then?
@jarrod yeah. between this and a Kardia 6l I can do medical grade ekgs and send over to dr if there’s an issue. Was great during Covid when everything was shutdown.
