@jsonbecker That’s similar to what I’m trying to build.

@matt_birchler Those look pretty great together!

@simonbc I know I would!

@simonbc Seems like a good place to start! Not overwhelming. An ‘automatic’ option to follow the mode of the device?

@manton I expect so too. It’d be more surprising if there wasn’t anything special or new for the Fold. But if prevents iPad-layout apps, they’ve lost the plot. 😝

@manton Replies don’t get blockquote treatment anymore? 🙁

@jarrod Also, can we take a moment to appreciate this excellent description that my shortcut generated for that image’s alt text?

> Side-by-side comparison of two laptops in three different views. The first image displays the closed laptops from the side, showing their thickness and ports. The second image shows them open, viewed from the hinge, highlighting the slim design and profiles. The third image is a further pulled-back perspective of the open laptops, emphasizing their screens and keyboards. One laptop is pink, and the other is blue-gray, both placed on a neutral-colored surface with a plain background.

@kev Big fan of the previous one! 🙋‍♂️

@viticci Haha, I thought the same thing: “Didn’t they already release these?” 😆

@drose Yeah, it’s not great. But we’ll see how it shakes out.

@Viditb 😍

@daringfireball I’m somewhat surprised they needed to make any changes at all, since iOS and iPadOS have only ever had software indicators.

@mindofaaronw 🙌

@jsonbecker I think they’re neat

@sigmund Hey! 👋

@simonbc Very clean! Just spitballing, but could be kind of helpful to have a bunch of blog prompts faded as the background.

@miguelmanalo Had to reschedule my March one. Earliest opening was September. 🙃

@gregmorris Quite sad, tbh.

@manton Yep, if they wanted it, they should have gotten in on the ground floor. Partnering with Google instead was another nail in the coffin.

@patrickrhone yes, he mentioned that!

@mgs I wonder what fraction of developers is paying 30%. I have to assume the vast majority is at 15% with the small business program.

@numericcitizen My wife has been using an iPad Pro for a few years now as her primary computer, but I’ll be curious if she’ll want a Neo or another iPad when the time comes to replace it. She might be too ingrained with the iPad and its media apps/games!

@numericcitizen The real question… what color? 😉

@mroutley It’s been a while since I tried putting anything else in there along with my Micro.blog timeline. Might be worth another test!

@relay @stephenrobles @macsparky Really excellent interview, fellas. And what an engaging, vibrant, and enthusiastic guest in @davidpogue.com! I wasn’t sure if I was going to read the book, but after this episode, I’m champing at the bit! Especially knowing that he voiced the audiobook himself — it’s always special when an author does that.

@matt_birchler Careful not to rip a hole in the space-time continuum over there!
