@eddiedale I would only say it was drastic if it were the first time they considered moving away, but it sounds like this was a second “strike” against their values (they considered last year when they had the exodus after the names-list stuff came out).

And I’d counter that it’s an argument for not sharing your opinions online only if you don’t want to accept the consequences, both positive and negative, for doing so. I appreciated that they didn’t say he shouldn’t be sharing his thoughts, just that “We simply have our own opinions and our own blogs, and in some cases, we have good choices available to us regarding the companies to which we give our business.”

Regarding the use of “riots”, I don’t know DHH, so I could certainly be wrong, but I’ve listened and read his stuff for long enough that I feel quite confident that he’s mastered the language and is clear about the term.
