Got in my first ice climb of the year, and before December 1st! Felt great to swing some tools again — it’s gonna be a great season. ⛏️❄️📷

It was Christmas tree hunting day, one of my favorite days of the year. We got a real honker to fill up our new tall ceilings, and the house has never smelled better! David Sparks’ ‘Yule’ playlist served as background for the festivities. 🎄📷

My dad's home was destroyed by a massive flood in the city where I grew up and where he currently lives. It’s the worst flood in over 100 years, and he lost almost all of his possessions, including the equipment he uses for work. I'm trying to help him out as much as I can, so all of my income in the following months will be going towards helping him. If you'd like to help, you can do so by getting any of my products listed here: buddysoftware.tech or here: insidegui.gumroad.com

It’s the best day of 2023, the day I received my Apple History Calendar for 2024! Just look at those cute-as-can-be stickers that @ismh@eworld.social included. 🥹

Today’s adventure: 5 pitches of über-classic Gunks routes with a dear friend. A crisp, late fall day with gorgeus views but surprisingly few folks at the cliff to share them with. Few things can quiet my mind while simultaneously requiring intense focus and intricate movement like climbing.🧗

😅 I know this is mostly because the rest of the years (currently) contain only my old Instagram posts. But it still makes me laugh. jb.heydingus.net/stats

Beware! The faceless jack-o-lanterns guard our door. Happy Halloween! 🎃👻💀

Would you look at that? Space Black didn’t completely replace Space Gray in the MacBook Pro lineup. The plain M3 14-inch model comes in Silver/Space Gray. Space Black is only for the true professional chip Macs.

Come on Apple, I had but one wish. A black version of this keyboard. I wouldn’t even care that it still charges with Lightning. The count continues.

Holy smokes, they actually did it. They finally killed the Touch Bar. No more 13-inch MacBook Pro.

Hey @danielpunkass, say I was thinking about moving my Tweets onto my main microblog to live as equal microposts, but wanted to tag them all as “Tweets”. Is there a way to bulk-add tags to posts?

Oooh! Look what just arrived! I’m in for some light reading! 📚🧗

Would you look at that! I’ve managed to run a little more each year since 2019. 🙂 🏃‍♂️

Had a blast in the (very wet) Lake Placid Half Marathon yesterday! It was awesome to see so many people getting after it despite the rain and chilly weather. And I even placed pretty well, even though I really just wanted to finish without injury. 😁 🏃‍♂️

Me, soaked but wearing a smile and a medal.A Strava map of the race course around lake placid. My finishing certificate with a time of 1:39:03.5. Placing 16th out of 288 overall. 10th out of 89 males. And 3rd out of 24 males aged 20-29. Average pace of 7:34.

Big props to Lucas on crushing the lead of Roaches on the Wall (5.10) last night. Made it look easy, which it is not! It’ll be a few seasons before I’m ready to lead that, but his stoke on the send will keep me inspired to continue at it. 📷

🧗 Led up this gem today with Gerry! The Disputed (5.8) is the hardest trad lead I’ve done since injuring my finger and, not gonna lie, I’m pretty proud of working through this onsight! (And I was treated to another beautiful sunset on the ride home. Autumn is just the best.) 📷

📷🧗 Got over to Cloudspin Cliff with Matt Oaks and @saw_dust_ery last night. Cool cliff with awesome views of Whiteface. Led up Sundays are for Friends (5.8) not clean, but felt good to test a piece again. Then top roped CCR (5.10a) after Oakcy put up the rope in the dark. Incredible climb. Can’t wait to get back there.

Hopped up Empress → Greensleeves (5.6) at Chapel Pond Slab today with the great @saw_dust_ery. Always fun to get up on tops of things! And was treated to a gorgeous sunset on the drive home. 📷

The buildup of entire little worlds on the forest floor fascinates me.

Which is taller? Distance can abstract height.

Moving day 🥲 🙂 📷

Looks like we’re gonna be New Yorkers for a bit…we bought our own piece of the Adirondacks! 😁 📷
