A little solo hike up Saddleback from The Garden yesterday. Trailhead says spring, but the peak’s still in winter with fresh snow. 14.3 miles, 3157 ft elevation gain, 9.5 hours.

if it’s the same saddleback (Maine) I was up there 2 years ago. A confused moose had lugged it’s 1000lbs up the hill: https://outdoorfoo.wordpress.com/2023/10/01/great-views-you-have-to-work-for/
@eludom This one is in New York, but wow, what a story! That moose musta been tired.
summer, so maybe the moose was just looking for a cooler place to wear a big fur coat. Still, no water and you gotta eat s lot of berries to generate that many calories.
Your hike looked cool, literally.
I’ll be going up Mt Washington (New Hampshire) twice this year.
