Univershuffle sounds like a lot of fun. Here’s what Michael Burkhardt had to say on 9to5Mac:
Univershuffle is a new music discovery app that shuffles all of the songs on Apple Music, completely at random – no AI or algorithms involved. […]
Once you have an Apple Music account linked, you can shuffle through songs as you please. You can exclude certain genres, that way you can better suit your music tastes.
There are display ads after the first 10 songs, but to can go ad-free for $5.
Could be great! Could be terrible. I’m downloading now to try it out.
Sounds fascinating! I'll have to check it out. I had the idea years ago, when radio started to go to hell, for an app that would scan your music, match your albums with Genre and Sub-Genre, then put you in a pool with other people who shared those same tastes. Then I imagined that you could look at those albums to find new music. In addition, when someone added an album that wasn't already in the pool would notify everyone else of the album. All anonymously, of course.
But then I remember I can't code myself out of a paper bag, so it never came to be. LOLZ. Free idea!!
@tylerknowsnothing You don’t like the radio stations? That’s like 80% of what I listen to in Apple Music! 😝 That’s a neat app idea, though!
Oh, I meant terrestrial radio, not the stations in AM. And I'm more of an album listener, anyway. I just liked radio to hear new music. I grew up in Pasadena with KROQ, KNAC, and KLOS in the 70's and 80's. It was nice.
@tylerknowsnothing Ooooh I gotcha.
