@jarrod if you like having a wood burning stove, for example because it can be used without electricity, I can attest that modern EPA certified wood stoves are an efficient and cleaner option in the past.
and I thought I have had a stressful few days! Best of luck too you, those sorts of double whammys really reinforce the โwhen it rains it poursโ ideaโฆ
@briandigital Although my heartโs with a wood stove, I think weโre going to go with propane since our wood stoveโs chimney is totally screwed, and propane (which we already have for appliances) can also be used without electricity. We definitely need a backup option here!
@jarrod ah. We got our chimney repaired, and relined along with our new stove. We electrified everything else so we wouldnโt regularly be burning anything in our house.
@briandigital I would love to do that. Eventually my goal is to do heat pumps for the main cooling/heating, electrify the rest of the appliances, and just have propane as the backup heat. But thatโs way down the road. All electric setups arenโt much of a reality around us yet. ๐

@scattershot Haha, sure do. But in the end we have both heat and water, so things canโt be too bad. ๐
