ππ Iβm switching from Raindrop to Apple Notes for saving my shopping links
It sounds inconsequential, but I think it's going to make an outsized difference. I've been toying with the idea of 2025 being The Year of Small Improvements, and this plays nicely with that theme.
Thank you for pointing out the RSS feeds. I had long forgotten about this feature.
@manton @help I experimented with it a bit and the result was sobering: Micro.blog creates a post with a title, an image if available, and the text, but without linking to the external content. Unfortunately unusable.
Currently experimenting with Raindrop and EchoFeed.
BTW: Does an entry from an embedded RSS feed generate an entry in the timeline?
@thosch EchoFeed seems like the right choice for that. So you can better format how you want the post to appear on the timeline.
@thosch Micro.blog assumes the posts are something you wrote, so I can see how this might not be quite right with Raindrop feeds. It would be better to integrate this with our bookmarks feature. We already have Raindrop import there, but a one-time import, not an automatic thing.
@manton Any chance to get a sync feature? Or to sync via a 3rd party?
@thosch We have timeline sync in the API but so far, no apps support it. Still want to add it to the official apps eventually.
@manton I meant sync for bookmarks.
@thosch Oh, sorry, I lost the thread. Yes, it should be possible to expand our current Raindrop support. Are you thinking mostly to Micro.blog or also sending bookmarks from Micro.blog to Raindrop?
@manton Ifyou ask both way would be fine, but I thought about Raindrop.io -> Micro.blog.
I would be nice, but without a high priority.
@manton PESOS, as I learned todayβ¦
