I’d be down for Apple bringing Threads-style voice messages to iMessage. I love the transcription (in case you’re in a noisy place) and the follow-along animation. I’d use voice messages way more often.
@jonathanreed Would you look at that!? I guess I hadn’t tried it in long enough that I didn’t realize it transcribed now. 👍 I’d they’d animate the text with the waveform it’d be 🧑🍳💋
I love that iMessage transcribes voice notes. It’s probably an age thing (young people seem to love them), but I hate it when someone sends me one. It feels like such an ordeal to have to listen to! Saw this the other day and it sums up my feelings.
@snptrs I avoided using them without the transcription, but there are plenty of times where I’d enjoy hearing a loved one’s voice in the message. Or if I wanted to use voice-to-text but just know the transcription is going to goof on a word or phrase, it’d be nice to have the audio file as backup to make sure the right message gets across.
@jarrod iMessage already does this. I really like it.
