The rather depressing fact is, much of what I do online is because I like interacting with other people. As I wrote about a few days ago, I have zero friends and rely heavily on platforms to provide this for me. More than this, though, is my love of getting replies. In many ways, the reason I take pictures and write blog posts is for other people’s reactions, and not hearing them sucks.
I wouldn’t say not getting replies sucks, but it sure is a thrill when I do hear from readers.
Follow that siren’s call, Greg, back to Micro.blog. 😉
not sure if his link changed after you posted or if your new quote link shortcut didn’t grab something right but the link to Greg’s post does not show up. Maybe something changed on his side as your other quoted link works that was after this one.
I am indeed….back
@ericmwalk having some DNS issues currently
@ericmwalk Thanks for the heads up. I shared it from an article I had saved to Pocket, and it looks like Greg switched back to Micro.blog in the meantime and some URLs got lost along the way. I’ve updated it so the links should work now.
@gregmorris Welcome back! 🙌 It seemed like you were having fun with Eleventy, so I’m a little surprised you didn’t just hook up that feed to your Micro.blog account for comments/timeline. Is it to coincide with steeping away from Mastodon-proper and consolidate back to a slower/quieter social presence? Or am overthinking it?
I am not too sure at the moment. I may end up just plugging in a site RSS feed but I’ll see. I may not take part in any of the social features at the moment, but being part of this community is the happiest place I have found online.
@gregmorris 😁 Whatever you decide, I’m glad you’re happy here.
