Man, I thought Drafts made it easy to blast off posts at the speed of thought. But I have to admit that MarsEdit’s micropost window is unrivaled on the Mac.
Hotkeys for launching and posting, and now it even has image support (with alt text!). This is dangerous.

@jarrod Jarrod, how many micro.blog accounts do you have? Just one?
@danielmrose Just this one. I have a “main blog” at heydingus.net hosted on Blot. But this space is currently just for my spitfire takes.
@jarrod Right on.
@danielmrose Why do you ask?
@jarrod I read your article about rss feeds and didn’t see any of your short posts there, so I assumed it was a second micro.blog.
I am really wrestling with how to be intentional with my fediverse presence and my writing.
Currently blog at write.as (danielmrose.com / thekjd.net) and have this Masto account. I have been on danielmrose.micro.blog in the past too.
one of us.
@danielmrose I’m seriously tempted to consolidate everything down to just my Micro.blog account. But I also have things working pretty smoothly right now and don’t much want to upset the apple cart. But if I were to start a new blog today, it would absolutely be on Micro.blog precisely because it lets you do longform, traditional blogging right alongside your short posts, and it’s all Fediverse compatible.
Sounds like you’re kind of in the same boat as me with things spread across two platforms, but at least write.as also works with the Fediverse.
(The only place my microposts appear on heydingus.net is my /now page.)
@jarrod That makes sense.
I think we are definitely in similar situations.
you can post straight to Mastodon now, too.
@bryan You mean with crossposting to a separate Mastodon account? Yeah, I could…but I kinda like the pared back and slower nature of Mastodon via Micro.blog.
No. I mean you can now log straight into a Mastodon account from Mars Edit as if it were any other blog.
@bryan oh, sorry, yeah! That is super cool.
I like the Droste effect in that message 🙂
@ArnoldHoogerwerf Ooh! I learned a new thing today; thanks!
