Finished reading: The Narrow Road Between Desires by Patrick Rothfuss 📚
Pat’s writing envelopes my mind like a warm embrace. The prose is so unique. I really enjoyed this small story about Bast, and the ‘Author’s Note’ bit at the end nearly as much.
I do wish Rothfuss would write more female characters whose traits revolve less around their beauty. This book had once particularly cringey bit that, admittedly, grew less cringey as more context was revealed. But still. I’m ever more consciously looking for creative works that pass the Bechdel-Wallace test, and this one does not.
(Woohoo! I actually finished a new book this year! 🥳)
@jarrod I really want to work my way through these short stories about the characters. I particularly want to read the one about Auri.
@kev That one is great too! Quite emotionally driven, if I remember correctly.
