Yeah, iA Writer is probably in my top 5 of most used apps. I love it but I can't imagine using it for todos. I don't see anything on his site about how he does it.
That said, I think it's interesting that in the interest of simplification some shoehorn jobs into apps that were not really intended and maybe it works. But perhaps causes friction that a dedicated app solves.
One of the best uses of Siri is adding to Reminders. Easy, fast natural language.
@dennyhenke@pimoore My guess is itβs just a single text file that he keeps a running list of tasks to check off, nothing terribly fancy. With the - [ ] syntax, itβs got a nice visual checkoff UI. More basic than Iβd want day-to-day, but Iβve also been known to resort to a similar checklist in Drafts when Iβm overwhelmed by my task manager.
@jarrod@pete That checking off works pretty well! I didn't know that was a thing. That certainly would make it more useful. I could see that replacing a similar task list in Notes. Maybe the convenience of having it all in one place would make up for lack of notifications and easy Siri input. But jeesh, no way to do scheduled, repeated reminders.

Hmm. Still, might be useful for certain things.
