@jsonbecker Wow, great service!

@numericcitizen That does look nice. It sort of leans into their existing aesthetic.

@matt_birchler And did he get fired from Fox like Matthew Dowd did from MSNBC for being “insensitive” about Kirk’s murder?

@ismh86 Bummer! It was the smoothest in years for me. I woke up at 8:30a eastern, didn’t remember for a few minutes that I had something to do, then clicked the store notification and had checked out with launch day delivery within 40 seconds. Pro, 256, Orange. I bet that’s what they made the most of.

@agiletortoise Not sure if this was intention, or supposed to be “now much easier”.

A section titled “Scanning Interface Update” describes an update to the Apple scanning interface on iOS 26, mentioning that Simple Scan leverages this update. It is now easier to toggle settings like auto-manual and color mode. The text is accompanied by an icon of a scanned document outlined in blue and set against a dark background.

Ms. Casey from the TV show Severance, with short dark hair is speaking in a dimly lit room. She is wearing a dark teal outfit. The text at the bottom of the image reads, “PLEASE TRY TO ENJOY EACH FACT EQUALLY.”

@jarrod I’m feeling more secure in my pre-pre-order of a Cosmic Orange 17 Pro.

@jddavis And then you and I both sent them screenshot within 7 minutes of each other 🤣 jb.heydingus.net/2025/09/1…

@birming You and me both! heydingus.net/blog/2025…

@birming @Havn @imyke @matt_birchler I wonder if that’s why they opened with the “design is how it works quote” this time. They’ve leaned into function over form this round. I think I agree that the Pixel lineup looks overall more balanced and aesthetically pleasing. But the iPhone Air is pretty gorgeous.

@bapsi Good question! I’m pretty sure I went from Series 5 to Ultra 1 — I don’t think I had any in-betweens.

@simonbs Wow! Were there even watches compatible with that feature out then?

@manton Yeah, especially as they leaned into the “iPhone 16 family” phrasing this year. I guess the Air isn’t part of the 17 family.

@BasicAppleGuy A marvel!

@stephenrobles Glad I still have the original!

@jarrod Well, I guess my Apple Watch Ultra 3 order wasn’t as cut and dry as I thought. I waffled a little more and decided I want to keep the Ultra 1 as a backup and for its better overnight health sensors. And I don’t need the more extravagant Milanese Loop band. So I canceled and re-ordered with the old Series 5 as the trade-in.

But then thought better of it again and canceled and re-ordered without any trade-in. I can get much more than $30 for a Series 5 by selling it myself.

I’m very thankful for Apple’s easy ordering/canceling system, but it did push back my delivery date to early October.

@steven_aquino That’s so awesome to hear!

@lmika Right? I wouldn’t be offended if they got the perspective right!

@jarrod As is squircle icon jail… (And yes, that’s an Apple-owned Pixelmator Pro icon that’s been locked up.)
Two app icons on a blue background. The top icon features a paintbrush and colorful paint palette, indicating an art or drawing application. The bottom icon shows a checkmark within a box, suggesting a tasks or productivity app.

@manton @gregmorris Count me in too. Probably all those Instagram posts I imported ages ago.

@numericcitizen

An animated image of a person in a metallic helmet and armor, The Mandalorian, in a dimly lit corridor with walls of rough stone and scattered lights, captioned “This is the way.”

@joesteel It’ll have history soon with 26, but not yet. Which doesn’t help you now, unfortunately. Weird though…I did that reset today too after getting the email, and I didn’t have to put in my old password. I went to their webpage manually though, not by clicking the link in the email. I wonder if that made the difference.

@joeross that’s pretty awesome. I wish more feed readers allowed this!

@Viditb Well done

@jonathanreed Congrats on the new show!
