@mikahsargent Yaaaay! Congratulations! 🧡

@JohnPhilpin Thanks for the Airtable recommendation. I'd forgotten about that service. And yeah, for quite a while! I haven't used pivot tables much, but they're in there.

Spreadsheet displays two tables showing peaks and hiking logs on oceanic desktop background. Peaks Pivot tallies hike counts by peak and type. Summit Log details hike dates, peaks, types, and notes.

@jarrod I'm tempted to just use Numbers to log and Pivot Tables to slice and dice the data, which is not the outcome I expected after hearing folks wax poetic about Notion for years.

@matt I'd be surprised if they pulled out of Apple Card, but with their relationship with Goldman Sachs coming apart, it wouldn't be out of the question.

@matt Was not on my Bingo card. I wonder if it has anything to do with new regulations I think I saw coming regarding BNPL and those services needing to be treated as more bank-like?

@michaelsteeber Wow, the reduction in structural blemishes is astonishing. 🤯

@jsonbecker Yeah, if I didn’t already have an iPad mini, I’d wait for an update. I’m a huge fan of my Mac mini too, but I’ve wanted macOS-but-mobile.

@jsonbecker I'm leaning heavily toward a MacBook Air + iPad mini as my mobile setup.

@steven_aquino It does, via a CSV. When I did it, I did have some manual cleanup to do, but not much.

@pratik Wow, that's awesome!

@numericcitizen I think about this a lot. Their messaging got muddy when they started talking about the iPad as being at the forefront of the post-PC era, which you never hear anymore. But it’s back in its original place as needing to do some things better than the phone and some things better than a laptop. And it does!

@amerpie Thanks buddy! 🫶

@numericcitizen I’ll second what Mitch said. But I’m also a proponent for challenging unkindness with kindness. Commenting with something like “Thanks for the feedback!” and leaving it at that may remind them that there’s a person behind the account. And then you get to decide how much or how little you want to take their input to heart. 🧡

@help Ahh, I see. I wonder if that could be adjusted to look for a “#” plus a space before turning it into a header.

@matt Hey, I think you were in my seat! I thought the same thing. I can’t wait to see more live events like this, and to see the tech improve over time.

@michaelsteeber I really liked it too.

@lmika Nope, you just get those 4 columns, but you can create multiple pages of your custom controls. Could have a whole page of shortcuts, accessible everywhere!

@jarrod Looks like “Apple ID” is dead in favor of “Apple Account”. I liked “ID”. 🤷‍♂️

Apple ID settings, but labeled as Apple Account in the Settings app.

@numericcitizen Haven’t tried yet!

@jarrod The top nav bar really crowds out folder titles in the Files app. (Only gets “Dow…” of “Downloads”)

iPad Files app with only the first three letters of the folder’s title before it’s cut off by the top nav bar.

@jarrod Losing the tab bar icons in the move to the top nav bar on iPad is a little weird.

@jarrod You can change the size of an existing widget on your Home Screen with a long-press. No need to delete and choose it again from the widget gallery!

@jarrod You can add a shortcut to control center! I can check that one off my list. ✅

@jarrod Photos has a pretty nice UI for trips you’ve taken! Mine goes back to 2009.

@jarrod Can promote page and tab actions to be favorites under that Reader icon in Safari.
