@matjpacker Thanks for reading! But now I’m curious about your two trigger-happy notifications that you turned out. 🤔
@jarrod For the True Fans out there who read the comments on this post, I have two bonus links this week:
Dave Pell wrote a compelling piece advocating that you turn off all your news notifications. I’d go one further and say you should turn off the vast majority of all notifications, starting with email. [🔗 fastcompany.com] (Via Kyle Starr)
Everyone knows about using Contacts notes to write down stuff you don’t want to forget about an acquaintance (right? RIGHT??), but Alex Chan opened a whole new paradigm with their tips on how to get better use out of your password manager’s notes field. [🔗 alexwlchan.net] (Via Robb Knight)

@thosch Yeah, if it was the single point of entry into my home, it’d be a different story.
@keenan Crowdstrike? Is that you in there?
@numericcitizen Wow! That does look nice. Way better than the old UltraFine monitors. That stand design looks familiar… 😉
@thosch There are other doors with regular keys into the house that I wouldn’t mind using as backups if needed. But I don’t think that would fly for my wife.
@SimonWoods I’ve had one for years and years too, and it turned my one-port MacBook into a non-issue.
@SimonWoods Hard to say for sure because that many videos repeatedly crashed the webpage on my phone, but I don’t think so. I’m looking for it to be able to completely configurable and firmware kept up-to-date within the Apple Home app’s infrastructure. Like this Wemo Smart Stage remote.
I doubt it’s the case with the Flic Duo cause Apple Home doesn’t have support for swipe actions as far as I’m aware. Unless it translated the swipes to button presses somehow.
@webology Haha thank you for that!
@jarrod FWIW, the full-text RSS feed you get as a subscriber includes all the images and no weird formatting, unlike the standard RSS feed has been for years. Hallelujah! 👏 Already a worthwhile investment.
@matt Thanks for the heads up!
@mako Right? Come on technology; develop faster! 😆
@jarrod Oh wait, this doesn’t have a physical key backup. I expect that’s a non-starter for the other decision-maker in my home. The hunt continues!
@matt That poster for The Substance makes my skin crawl.
@matt Harumph. As a data geek, you’re making a strong argument for me to reconsider swapping to Trakt for all my TV/Movie tracking. All of this data from Letterboxd is both gorgeous and fascinating.
@numericcitizen Any ideas? Mine’s “The Automator’s Dilemma”
@atpfm
mastodon.social I dunno if any of you have checked out the ‘Last Week in Apple Vision Pro’ newsletter, but I’m finding stuff in there that’s really changing my opinion on the capability and pace of development for visionOS. I downloaded three apps from this week’s issue alone!
Oh wow, there are many more AI features coming in 2025 TVs.
@Annie Stop it ☺️
@jsonbecker Without a doubt, it’s amazing.
@rmondello Vergecast?
@amerpie Lou! You wrote about little old me — thank you for your kind words; it made my day. 🥰 I happened across that first email you sent me a few days ago, and it made me smile again. You da best.
@jsonbecker My hiking objective tomorrow (in Fahrenheit) 🥶
