@pratik If you’re using the new Reeder, I’ve found you can’t be both logged in and have Sven’s feed. It won’t load the posts twice. If you remove the first-party integration feed and refresh, you might start seeing them.

@DaveyCraney Wow, what a get!

@gregmorris I don’t agree with everything you wrote, but the overall sentiment resonated.

The iPhone has settled into a comfortable groove, and maybe that’s fine. But I miss the days when a new iPhone felt like a revolution, it’s hard not to feel a little disappointed.

Things have certainly slowed down from the early days. Or at the very least I’m desensitized to the sensationalization.

That said, I’m looking at a pretty big upgrade coming from an iPhone 13 mini! Those small improvements stack up when you don’t get a new phone each year.

@superdavey 🙌 Reading about someone’s excitement is way more fun. (I’m excited!)

@maique Makes total sense!

@jsonbecker I, too, am up way too late. But I probably should have been reading a book. 😆

@jsonbecker Could be. But my understanding was the new Reeder is using iCloud only for position sync this time, and is fetching source material directly from the RSS feeds. But I logged into Reeder with my Mb credentials, so I’m not really sure how it’s getting that data.

@numericcitizen Could be! I’ll be interested to see if they let you save the workflows that Siri cooks up for you using Apple Intelligence.

@manton Is something up with the Threads cross-posting? I just happened to check my profile tonight and saw that my last cross-post was on August 18th.

@maique Can I interest you in auto-cross posting from Instagram to your Micro.blog (which presumably cross posts elsewhere)? 😉

@manton What kind of access do apps like @rizzi’s Reeder get to the timeline? I opened it up just now for the first time since last night, intending to catch up on the timeline (position sync!) but it missed most of the day’s posts.

The screen displays a social media feed with usernames, avatars, timestamps, and posts. One post mentions an iPad mini, another references a leak, and a third discusses the show "The Crown."

@matt I enjoy the “touch on Mac would be good” spicy Matt. 🌶️

@vincent 👀 👀

@numericcitizen Yes! And a good show. 😉

@flohgro Yeah, hopefully a one-time thing. It was fine after discharging and recharging completely.

@DaveyCraney How does the phrase go? With ongoing payment comes greater responsibility? 😉 I hope it materializes. He’s published a development roadmap this time, which I suppose is something.

@superdavey That’s some very fair feedback.

@numericcitizen True!

@numericcitizen oh that’s an interesting flaw I hadn’t considered.

@jsonbecker I’m not thrilled about my favorite version playing second-fiddle either, but it hasn’t gotten much attention in years anyway…so not big change I guess? What would you like to see come to Reeder Classic?

@keenan I would definitely read an acceptance speech for an Oscar you haven’t won for a screenplay you haven’t written. 😜

@pratik No, haven’t heard of it. Glancing at it on the App Store, looks like another unified timeline. Automated posting from the @HeyDingus account is the only things I do on Mastodon-proper, so I don’t really need that functionality. As you were saying, I’m just looking for a really polished and native-feeling Mb app on Apple platforms.

@pratik Right? Just when you finally get out, they pull you back in. I’d still like to see better conversation threading on the timeline in some Mb app, but Reeder’s detail view at least looks quite nice.

It’s these things that I’m sure are going to drag me into app development myself one of these days.

@gregmorris @jtr @manton Yeah that seems reasonable.
