Goodness, what a special show. Right up there with Trying as one of my favorites from Apple TV.

Every episode was so good. Equally spit take funny and heartwarming. The season’s arc, as a whole, was perhaps not as cohesive as past ones, but I still loved it.

For All Mankind is getting one final season, its sixth. It’s one of my all-time favorite shows, and certainly one of Apple TV’s crown jewels. I’m both surprised and a little sad. I’d hoped it would continue on in perpetuity, but all things come to an end.

What a show! I had a hankering to watch this again after a few years, and so glad that I did. Marathoned it over two days. It’s a masterclass in growing empathy for nearly every character, and showing dull things dramatically. And a triumph in set and costume design.

📺 I just finished my rewatch of Severance and, my god, did they ever nail that finale. Every scene a cliffhanger, with the ultimate one at the very end.

Though so much was left a mystery, I’d still have been happy if the series ended right there. But I’m overjoyed that season 2 picks up in a few days!

Watched: Station Eleven 📺

At first, I found this series kind of hard to get into. I’m all about the post-apocalyptic series, and I liked the angle this has following the Traveling Symphony. But it didn’t click with me right away. In fact, it wasn’t until the finale that I was sure if I even liked the show. But I found myself yelling at the TV, desperately wanting resolution to some of the arcs. And my heart ached in some of the outcomes. I realized how much I’d grown invested in the story its characters. I’ll be thinking about this one a lot in the years to come, I think. 👍

While watching the first episode of The Afterparty Season 2, I was a little worried that it had lost its mojo. The setup seemed a bit ham-fisted, and I didn’t connect with any of the characters. But the second episode was an absolute delight. Really looking forward to the reset of the season now! 📺

Well, Ted Lesso ended very well. It was a brilliant show with many flaws, but it was always something special.

I don’t always get on board with the latest popular TV crazes, but this one definitely held up. I appreciated that while you certainly felt on edge for every episode, there weren’t as many jump and zombie scares as there could have been. I loved seeing the trust grow between Ellie and Joel, and how they helped each other become less broken over time — even while having to do horrific things.

And, yes, the ending is quite shocking.

I’m a climber who has always enjoyed the bromance between Sharma and Mamoa. So I was super interested in this series. I found it a bit pedantic and cringy early on and was disappointed that Mamoa had basically zero involvement with the climbers. But everyone was personable and showed up in a big way in the actual climbing. I grew to enjoy the series and was on the edge of my seat during the finale.

Finished watching: Mr. Corman (2021) written and directed by Joseph Gordon-Levitt 📺 ★★☆☆

It’s hard to wrap my thoughts about this show into a tight little bow because it was kind of all over the place. But I can say that it was masterful in bringing forth emotions from real everyday life. The last three episodes, which took place during 2020 pandemic, so accurately captured the fear and uncertainty of that time that I forgot for a moment that I wasn’t actually in lockdown in my house.

I can’t foresee a Season 2, which it sounds like there won’t be one, but I think it’s worth watching – even if just for it’s weirdness and rawness.

Oh, and it feels like this show was Joseph Gordon-Levitt’s demon dog. He wrote, directed, and starred in the show and wrote and performed the music. Pretty cool.
